Loki’s Saga
Loki is the feared and beloved Norse God of Mischief. His games often caused trouble for the rest of the gods but his guile would allow him to solve the most intractable problems… even if it was of his making. Loki had a tongue of silver and a wit as sharp as a dwarven knife. Likewise, our blackberry mead starts with sweet words and finishes with a delightful bite.
Flavor – Mead with Blackberries
Loki’s Barb Mead offers a rich, full-bodied flavor that lingers on your tongue. The addition of blackberries provides a refreshing, deep berry note that perfectly complements the honey base, and reducing the perceived sweetness. The natural haziness of the mead is due to mild filtration, preserving its authentic character.
Ingredients
Crafted with local Colorado alfalfa and wildflower honey, Loki’s Barb Mead uses Freyr’s Sail Mead as its base. At the end of fermentation, whole pressed blackberries are added to infuse a the tangy berry flavor.
Appearance
This mead has a charming, hazy look, a result of its natural ingredients, minimal processing and the absence of added clarifiers.
Intensity
14% ABV, providing a satisfying warmth and depth with every sip.
Dietary Information
Gluten-free, low in sulfites and tannins, and suitable for vegetarians.
Serving Suggestions
Loki’s Barb Mead tastes great chilled or at room temperature, offering versatility for any occasion. Enjoy it on its own to fully appreciate its complex flavors, or try it as a spritzer with ginger ale, club soda, or mixed with lemonade or limeade over ice for a refreshing twist.
